An armed suspect who had barricaded himself inside a home in East Los Angeles has surrendered to authorities, the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department announced Thursday.
Deputies from the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau responded at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of School Avenue and East Sixth Street to assist deputies from the East Los Angeles Station with the suspect, said LASD Lt. David Auner.
A Crisis Negotiation Team assisted SEB deputies with the suspect’s arrest. The surrounding neighborhood was deemed safe and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes, the sheriff’s department said.
