The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office Friday released the name of a 17-year-old boy who was fatally shot during a pool party at a Torrance home.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday in the 23000 block of Huber Avenue, according to the Torrance Police Department. Officers found spent casings and the victim — identified as Chyler Paton — who was suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Torrance Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead, police said.
A news report showed a covered body in the driveway. Family members told CBS2 the shooting occurred during a pool party celebrating the end of the college year.
The investigation was ongoing, police said.
