Police Monday were investigating the crash of a flatbed tow truck into a parked vehicle that nearly sheared a power pole in Sherman Oaks.

The crash at about 8:40 a.m. in the 13000 block of Cumpston Street was captured on numerous home security cameras and a dash cam in a neighbor’s vehicle.

Video from various angles shows a red flatbed car carrier with a gray pickup truck on the bed that becomes unsecured and slams into a parked white pickup truck that is then dragged into a power pole.

At that point, the gray pickup truck comes completely off the flatbed, but the driver never stops.

A neighbor who asked not to be identified told KTLA it wasn’t the first time a tow truck was used in a car theft in the area.

Officers at the scene took an attempted vehicle theft report and another for the hit-and-run.

A description of the male suspect was not available.
