A 48-year-old man who was discovered dead inside a vehicle found near the bottom of a ravine in Azusa was identified Wednesday.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to Highway 39, also known as Angeles Crest Highway, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday regarding the crash, ABC7 reported.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter was sent to the scene to assist with the rescue operation. The victim was found 50 to 200 feet down the hill inside the vehicle, according to the station.
He was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Paul Avila.
The sheriff’s department is conducting the investigation of the crash.
This is just so heartbreaking. Paul was an amazing human being. I was lucky to have known him and worked with him, even for a short time. The world was a better place with him in it. Truly an angel on earth.
Paul and i was very good friends. And we be going out alot like ti car shows to concerts from Jokoy to fluffy at Dodgers stadium. but most important one was! serving our brothers and sisters in need under the name of his son Paul’s proyect. However.. I haven’t accepted his lost. but i miss him. until then my friend.
