A 30-year-old unhoused man who was shot to death in the unincorporated Firestone Park area near South Los Angeles was identified by authorities Monday.
Jossias Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies responded around 10:15 a.m. Saturday to 82nd Place and Maie Avenue, near Animo Pat Brown Charter High School, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the county Medical Examiner’s office.
Lopez died on railroad tracks in the area, the Medical Examiner’s office reported.
No information about the circumstances of the shooting or possible suspects was released.
