A Feather Alert was activated Thursday on behalf of an at-risk 17-year-old girl last seen in Hemet,
Mya Morreo was last seen on July 1 near West Florida Avenue and North Kirby Street at around 10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol which activated the alert on behalf of the Hemet Police Department.
Morreo was described as a 5-foot-3-inch-tall girl weighing 120 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
Anyone with information regarding Morreo’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Feather Alert is a tool used by law enforcement agencies to investigate the suspicious or unexplained disappearance of Indigenous people. It rapidly disseminates information to the public to aid in the swift recovery of missing Indigenous people.
