A passenger aboard an off-road vehicle was killed during a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Lancaster, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 2:25 a.m. on Avenue H, west of 35th Street, and involved a Can-Am Maverick and Nissan Sentra, said Detective Ryan Ament of the sheriff’s Lancaster station.
The Nissan Sentra was going eastbound on Avenue H, where it struck the off-road vehicle in the roadway, Ament said. A man on board the Can-Am Maverick was pronounced dead at the scene, Ament said.
“The cause of the crash is still being investigated. It is unknown if speed was a factor in the crash,” he said. “It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in this crash.”
