Authorities Monday released the name of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision in Sylmar.
Killed in the collision that occurred about 9:45 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Polk Street and DeGarmo Avenue was 29-year-old Carlos Posada, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office. His place of residence was not immediately available.
Los Angeles Police Department officers learned from witnesses that a vehicle traveling east on Polk struck the victim and failed to stop, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced Posada dead at the scene, police said.
There was no suspect or vehicle description, made available.
