Firefighters contained a brush fire along Burbank Boulevard in the Sepulveda Basin Saturday.

The fire was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 3:13 p.m. Saturday, burning along the south side of Burbank Boulevard between the LA River and the Woodley Trail, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

“Firefighters are actively protecting the north side of Burbank Boulevard to prevent fire spread to the model airplane fields,” Lantz said. “LAFD helicopters are in the air for support as needed.”

The fire burned about one-and-a-half acres before its forward progress was stopped and the flames were extinguished.

No injuries or structure damage were reported.

The fire was reported to the CHP because smoke was visible from the San Diego (405) Freeway at Burbank Boulevard.
