A driver suspected of making an illegal U-turn led California Highway Patrol officers on a nearly hour-long, high-speed chase Friday morning that ended in the Mid-City area.
The chase ended at 6:03 a.m. at the intersection of La Cienega and Venice boulevards and the woman, who at one point drove 100 mph, was taken into custody after the car jumped a curb.
The chase started about 5:15 a.m. on the San Diego (405) Freeway just north of Moraga Drive and continued onto the Ventura (101) Freeway, according to the CHP.
Pursuing officers were seen racing northwest on the 101 freeway in pursuit of the white Toyota sedan in the Agoura Hills area around 5:30 a.m.
The driver eventually reversed course and drove back to Los Angeles where the car jumped a curb and came to a stop allowing officers to surround the car.
The suspect initially appeared to be exiting the vehicle, but got back in, prompting a volley of pepper ball rounds, according to broadcast reports.
