Authorities Monday continued their searched for an at-risk 11-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl reported missing in South Los Angeles, prompting an Endangered Missing Advisory.
The children — identified as Juaquin Vides Jr. and Aastha Vides — were last seen about 6 p.m. July 29 with 34-year-old Juaquin Vides, whom investigators described as a person of interest, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Juaquin Jr. was described as 3 feet 8 inches tall, 49 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with yellow stripes.
Aastha was described as 3 feet 6 inches tall, 35 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green T-shirt with white flowers.
Detectives described Vides as 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. It was not immediately known what he was wearing. He is believed to be driving a white 2006 Ford Focus with California license plate 5TKY688.
Authorities did not disclose the relationship between the children and Vides.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Juaquin Jr. and Aastha was urged to call 911.
