A woman was attacked Thursday in the kitchen of a Cheesecake Factory restaurant at the Topanga Mall in Canoga Park.
Officers responded about 12:25 p.m. a reported stabbing at the restaurant in the 6600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A woman in her 30s was reported to have been stabbed in a shoulder during an assault in the restaurant kitchen by a man in a white shirt and white shorts who left on foot heading toward Victory Boulevard, but officers found she had a gunshot wound and called for a rescue ambulance, police and fire department officials said. Authorities did not disclose whether the woman was a restaurant employee.
The suspect’s vehicle was reported to be a black Mercedes-Benz, according to the LAPD. A description of the man, however, was not available.
Firefighters were informed by police that the woman had possibly been shot and that whatever happened took place in the kitchen, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
