A suspect is in custody and a 9mm ghost handgun was recovered from a shooting Saturday morning at a Fullerton apartment building, where a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched a little after midnight to the 2100 block of West Commonwealth Avenue after neighbors reported hearing a gunshot, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

There had been an argument inside an apartment, where the 27-year-old Fullerton man was shot, he said.

Officers arriving at the scene, spotted the alleged gunman, the shooting victim and another person fleeing the location in a vehicle.

The suspect vehicle eventually “yielded” in the 3700 block of West Commonwealth Avenue, where the alleged gunman, Sincere Gillon, 24, of Fullerton. was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a Fullerton Police Department watch commander.

Paramedics transported the 27-year-old man to a hospital for his gunshot wound and the third person was only identified as a “witness,” he said.

There was no other information available.
