Police sought the public’s assistance Thursday in locating a suspected hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in his 40s in Canoga Park late last year.
The collision occurred about 5:15 p.m. Dec. 6, 2024, when the man was crossing westbound on De Soto Avenue, north of Gresham Street, and was hit by a gray or silver vehicle heading southbound, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver did not stop.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
Detectives noted that traffic in the area was heavy at the time of the crash.
