A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday when he crashed on a four-lane road just east of Lake Elsinore, possibly while driving under the influence.

Brandon Heath of Wildomar was fatally injured just after 1 a.m. Friday on Canyon Hills Road between Rosemary Road and Sage Lane, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Brad Foster said witnesses driving through the area found the motorcycle overturned on the westbound side of Canyon Hills, and Heath unconscious in the roadway.

The exact circumstances behind the crash were unknown.

Patrol deputies and paramedics arrived a short time later, attempting resuscitative measures, but the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Alcohol is being considered a factor in the collision,” Foster said.

An autopsy was pending on Heath Friday.

Anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to contact sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099.
