Palm Springs police arrested more than 20 members of the Mongols Motorcycle Club over the weekend on suspicion of weapons and drug offenses, DUI and outstanding warrants during the group’s national meeting, police said Tuesday.
About 1,000 members arrived Friday at Hotel Zoso for their annual national gathering to “elect a president,” according to Police Chief Andrew Mills.
The Mongols, considered an international outlaw motorcycle gang, prompted a large law enforcement response from multiple agencies.
Among those arrested was Abedino Jacobo Candelario, 24, who was booked Saturday into the Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, police said. He was released the same day on $5,000 bail.
Police said three people — Charlotte Pine, 48, Douglas Wong, 48, and Anthony Landeros Torres, 30 — were arrested Friday on suspicion on driving under the influence.

Police said the following individuals were arrested Friday on weapons-related offenses:
— Anthony Trujillo, 32, for alleged possession of metal knuckles;
— Charles Glen Gomez, 42, for alleged concealed firearm with vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm. He was released Saturday on $10,000 bail;
— Brandon Rice, 36, for alleged weapons/firearm;
— Igor Zapryagayev, 36, for alleged concealed/ carrying loaded firearm;
— Jose Armando Rodriguez, 39;
— Joe Noriega Rodriguez, 45;
— Kolby Driessen, 24, for alleged carry/concealed dirk or dagger and metal knuckles;
— Salvador Sanchez, 49, for alleged carry/concealed dirk or dagger and possession of a controlled substance; and
–Phillip Zaun, 40, for allegedly carrying a loaded firearm.
Two others — Montree Scott and Christopher Shavers, both 32 — were arrested Saturday, police said. Scott was arrested on suspicion of various weapons and drugs charges, while Shavers was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed and loaded firearm, police said.
The following members were arrested for warrants, according to police:

— Ricardo Campos Tagle, 41;
— Rhonda Venanio, 55;
— Donald McCuistion, 59;
— Gabriel Borg, 26.
