A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Friday morning in Compton.
The fatality was reported to the California Highway Patrol around 6 a.m. at the intersection of East Las Hermanas Street and Santa Fe Avenue, a CHP officer said.
L.A. County firefighters pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The intersection was to remain closed for at least two hours, according to the CHP.
