A motorist and her passenger killed when her car slammed into the center divider on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley, then plunged down an embankment into a parking lot, where it hit a parked truck, were identified Tuesday.
Jillian Reynoso, 41, of Hemet and Christopher Stainbrook, 40, of Jurupa Valley were fatally injured just before 5 a.m. Monday on the eastbound 60 at Country Village Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Javier Navarro said Reynoso was at the wheel of a sedan traveling at an unconfirmed speed when it veered into the divider, ricocheting off the concrete barrier and causing Stainbrook to be ejected into eastbound lanes.
The car continued across all lanes and went down a shallow embankment before sliding into a business parking lot at 3810 Wabash Drive, where it collided with a parked box truck, which was unoccupied, Navarro said.
No other vehicles were involved.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and pronounced Stainbrook dead on the freeway. They found Reynoso dead in her car, according to the CHP.
All eastbound lanes were shut down for roughly two hours while a preliminary investigation was conducted.
Autopsies were pending on both victims Tuesday. It’s unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Anyone with information about the accident was asked to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-324-7210.

Please remember that these were human beings, with children and grand children.
Jillian Reynoso is my cousin who passed away in that accident. I did not know the male occupant of the vehicle.
