A person was taken in for mental evaluation Wednesday after a vehicle parked suspiciously in Redondo Beach had questionable lettering written on the side in red.
Officers responded Wednesday morning to the area of Inglewood Avenue and Vanderbilt Lane to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
Police said the vehicle’s occupant was contacted by responding officers, who learned that the parked car — with the word ”Beware” written in red on its side — was part of a Halloween display.
“Based on their investigation and interview, the occupant was determined to have met the criteria for a mental health evaluation and was subsequently transported by mental health evaluation team to the appropriate facility for treatment,” the police department said in a statement.
Detectives have not determined whether a crime occurred.
