Authorities continued an investigation Friday into a fatal shooting of a man in Indio.
Police officers responded to a report about 2:20 p.m. Thursday in the 83000 block of Quail Avenue regarding a shooting, according to the Indio Police Department.
Upon arrival, they found a man who sustained gunshot wounds and was administered lifesaving measures by paramedics. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A person of interest have been detained,” police said.
The victim’s identity was wittheld pending confirmation of the Riverside County Coroner’s office and notification of next of kin.
The agency stated that there was no additional threat to the community.
The circumstances behind the alleged shooting were not immediately available.
