Police Friday were reported to have shot a man who was allegedly stabbing himself with a large shard of glass.
Police responded to a call regarding the man in his 30s in the 800 block of South Vermont Avenue about 7:50 a.m. Friday, CBS2 reported.
According to reports from the scene, at least one officer opened fire on the man, wounding him, after finding him self-inflicting stab wounds with the glass.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed they transported a person from the scene to a hospital after getting a call of a person in distress with police.
An update on his condition was not immediately available.
There were no reports of injuries to officers.
