Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau are assisting United States Department of Veterans Affairs Police with a barricaded suspect in West Los Angeles, the department reported Saturday.
Officers from the special enforcement team responded to the 700 block of Bonsall Avenue, north of the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Building, at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s department said.
The team will assume tactical command. The Crisis Negotiation Team is attempting to make contact with the suspect to bring this to a peaceful conclusion.
The investigation is being handled by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Police, according to the LASD.
The circumstances surrounding the barricade were not known.
