A 71-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup Monday in Huntington Beach.
The collision happened about 6:25 a.m. at Springdale Street and Brannen Drive, killing Kurt George Nickel of Huntington Beach, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
A 37-year-old Huntington Beach man behind the wheel of an F250 pickup struck the pedestrian while driving north on Springdale, police said.
The driver cooperated with investigators and is not suspected of driving impaired, police said.
