A 37-year-old felon suspected of illegally manufacturing firearm parts at his Jurupa Valley home, where stolen guns were also seized, was behind bars Monday.
Marco Ponce De Leon was arrested and booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta Saturday on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an illegally modified rifle, possession of a silencer, possession of an assault weapon and manufacturing firearms parts without a license.
De Leon is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were tipped off to the suspect’s alleged illicit manufacturing operation Saturday, culminating in a search warrant being obtained and served at his residence in the 5000 block of Steve Avenue, near Jurupa Road.
“During the investigation … the following items were located and seized — 13 firearms, two of which had been reported stolen, and one short-barreled rifle, 20 3-D printed receivers, numerous (flash) suppressors and large-capacity magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia,” Lt. Santos Cortez said.
He said De Leon was taken into custody without incident Saturday afternoon.
