A 12-year-old boy was killed early Monday when he was struck by a vehicle in the Winnetka area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred at 2:49 a.m. at Saticoy Street and Winnetka Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman told City News Service.
The boy crossed outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle, Eisenman said. She questioned why a boy that age would be out at that hour.
The driver remained at the scene and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, she added.
