A man in a wheelchair was killed Monday when he was struck by a pickup truck in downtown Los Angeles.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. at Hill and Fifth streets, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The 50-year-old man was crossing Hill Street when he was struck by a Ford F-150 that was northbound on Hill Street, the spokesman said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
The man in the wheelchair was believed to have been homeless, the spokesman said.
