A 66-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered when he was struck earlier this month by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles, police said Tuesday.
The victim, whose name was not immediately available, was struck about 6:55 p.m. Jan. 12 in an unmarked crosswalk at the intersection of 45th Place and Western Avenue in the Vermont Square neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
He was hit by a silver Honda Odyssey van heading north on Western Avenue. The Honda was last seen eastbound on 42nd Place from Western, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital and police announced his death on Tuesday.
The city of Los Angeles has a standing $50,000 reward offer for information leading to convictions in fatal hit-and-run cases.
