Two people killed in a two-car collision at an intersection in Santa Clarita were identified by authorities Monday.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita station responded at about 11:30 p.m. Friday to a crash at Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road, where they found multiple people injured, authorities said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while several others were taken to a hospital, Sgt. Joana Warren told City News Service.
The victim who died at the scene was identified by the county medical examiner’s office as Sylvia Lux, 49, of Canyon Country, who sustained multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
Another person taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel died later. That victim was identified by the medical examiner’s office as 54-year-old Genry Ortiz Torres.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
