A 38-year-old man on probation suspected of grand theft in Rancho Mirage has been taken into custody, authorities announced Friday.
Deputies responded to the 32000 block of Bob Hope Drive, between Magnum and Dinah Shore Drive, to reports on Feb. 13 regarding theft of multiple items belonging to victims, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives assigned to the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, with assistance from Palm Desert Station Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team personnel, located Andrew Houston in the 32000 block of Bob Hope Drive, where he was taken into custody without incident in connection with the alleged thefts.
During the arrest, investigators determined that Houston was in possession of a stolen vehicle, prompting them to obtain a search warrant and recover several stolen items, which were later returned to their rightful owners.
Houston was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of burglary grand theft, and a violation of probation.
