A Silver Alert was activated for an at-risk 81-year-old man last seen Friday in Sherman Oaks.
Wigneswaran Kandavel was last spotted at about 8 a.m. Friday near Valley Vista Boulevard and Murietta Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Kandavel was described as a 5-foot-9-inch-tall man weighing 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black clothing.
CHP officials said Kandavel is believed to be traveling in a black 2018 Maserati Ghibli with California license plate 8FTC487.
Anyone with information regarding Kandavel’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
