Concerns mounted Friday for the welfare of a 68-year-old man missing from Calimesa.
Russell Woods was last seen about 9 a.m. Monday at Third Street and El Serene Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The agency issued the alert after receiving the missing person notification shortly before 2:20 p.m. Thursday.
Woods is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 153 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans. Authorities believe he maybe traveling on foot.
The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicion disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to call 911.
