A woman was sentenced Wednesday to six years in state prison for a DUI crash that killed a 76-year-old woman in West Hills.
Nohemi Harrison, now 61, was immediately taken into custody after being sentenced in connection with her no contest plea Feb. 18 to a felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The case stemmed from a March 12, 2022, head-on collision that killed Carol Singer in the 24000 block of Woolsey Canyon Road, near Valley Circle Boulevard.
The investigation determined that Harrison, then 57, was driving a 2021 Porsche and was at fault “when she drove her vehicle to the left of the double yellow lines while under the influence alcohol and/or drugs,” California Highway Patrol Officer G. Alvarez said shortly after the collision.
Harrison had been free on bail while awaiting sentencing and was ordered to undergo electronic monitoring and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
