A brush fire in Culver City burned about 0.85 of an acre of hillside below Bill Botts Park Thursday and prompted street closures.
The fire was reported at approximately 1:03 p.m. Thursday near Jefferson Boulevard and Duquesne Avenue, according to the Culver City Police Department.
Evacuations were ordered to businesses on Lotz Lane and at Bill Botts Park as a precaution, police said.
Firefighters contained the flames at about 1:55 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters assisted in the effort against the blaze.
Businesses were reopened to foot traffic about 2:05 p.m., but vehicles were still not permitted, as the closure on Jefferson Boulevard remained in effect, police said.
Police said Jefferson Boulevard was reopened as of 4:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
