A 46-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to raping a woman in Santa Ana two years ago.
Rudy Rivas Ceja pleaded guilty to rape, robbery and assault with caustic chemicals, all felonies. He was scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 8.
Ceja was accused of approaching the woman and a friend who were smoking methamphetamine about 7 p.m. April 2, 2024, police testified in Ceja’s preliminary hearing.
At gunpoint, Ceja told the woman’s friend to leave and he took her to a market and then to a park where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
Ceja was also charged with sodomy by force, forcible oral copulation and criminal threats, all felonies, with sentencing enhancements for kidnapping to commit a sex offense and a robbery.
