A 34-year-old man was charged Friday with fatally stabbing a man in Santa Ana two years ago.

Luis Fernando Buenrostro was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. His city of residence was not disclosed.

Buenrostro was accused of killing 46-year-old Eduardo Rigoberto Bustamante of Santa Ana Oct. 21, 2024, police said.

Police were dispatched at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 22, 2024, when the body of the victim was found at Delhi Park.

Buenrostro was arrested Wednesday in the 3300 block of South Bristol Street, police said. It was unclear what led police to charge the man.

The defendant pleaded guilty in November 2019 to recklessly causing a fire in a forest. According to a probation violation petition in 2022, the defendant had a criminal history dating back to 2011.
