A 3-year-old boy who had been the subject of an Amber Alert after being abducted in South Los Angeles Thursday has been found, prompting cancellation of the alert.

Elias Linarea had last been seen at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday near Slauson and Van Ness avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Where or when he was found was not disclosed by the CHP.

Sonia Quintanilla was with Elias when he had been last seen and was identified by law enforcement as the suspect in his disappearance, authorities said. There was no word about her status when the Amber Alert was canceled.

Quintanilla was described as a 38-year-old, 5-foot-6-inch-tall woman weighing 140 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black sweater and pants.

Quintanilla and Elias were believed to be traveling in a gray 2008 Pontiac G6 with California license plate 6FRP150, according to the CHP.

The relationship between Elias and Quintanilla, if any, was unclear.

The CHP describes Amber Alerts as “the most serious alerts we can issue involving children.” They require specific evidence that the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.
