A 63-year-old man was killed and another person was injured after they were trapped inside a car in a two-vehicle crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello, authorities said Sunday.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at 2:33 a.m. Saturday to the eastbound freeway and the Paramount Boulevard exit, where one victim was found in the middle lanes of the freeway.

The officers found another victim in a black sedan, which crashed into a freeway wall, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

Wade Wilson died from blunt force injuries in an accident, the Medical Examiner’s office reported Sunday. His city of residence was not provided.

The second victim was freed from the sedan by Montebello Fire Department firefighters and taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

A SigAlert issued at 3:08 a.m. for the closure of all lanes of the eastbound freeway at the Paramount Boulevard exit was canceled at 6:06 a.m., the CHP stated.
