A 39-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting a 32-year-old man in July 2024 in Moreno Valley has been taken into custody, authorities announced Tuesday.
Homicide detectives were assisted by personnel from the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Major Crime Unit on Saturday in locating and arresting Jeffery Donnel Hendrix of Moreno Valley in Rialto without incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office..
Hendrix was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
Deputies responded at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 26, 2024, to the 24000 block of Fawn Street in Moreno Valley to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, where they located Scott Leflore suffering from a possible gunshot wound, sheriff’s officials said. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Details about what led up to the fatal attack remain limited as investigators continue following investigative leads into the alleged homicide.
