A motorcyclist was killed Thursday in an alleged hit-and-run crash in Sun Valley, and a 64-year-old man was taken into custody.

The crash was reported about 4:20 a.m. Thursday in the area of Bradley Street and Tuxford Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The rider, believed about 30 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, a department public information officer said. The rider was not immediately identified.

Police said the driver of a white 2017 Freightliner Cascadia truck was traveling northbound on Bradley from Tuxford and made a left turn onto private property. The motorcyclist attempted to pass along the left side of the truck, but the vehicles collided, police said.

The truck completed the turn and drove into the private business without stopping to render aid to the injured rider, police said.

Detectives later identified the driver as Edvard Gyulnazaryan of Glendale, who was taken into custody without incident after returning to the scene hours later, police said.

Gyulnazaryan was booked at the Van Nuys Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death.

“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
