A new county fire station groundbreaking was set for dedication Friday in Valencia.

Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, whose fifth district includes Valencia, planned to be on hand for the Friday morning ceremony heralding work on the new Fire Station 46.

The station, which will stand at 26720 Bombero Lane on the southeast corner of Bombero and Westridge Parkway, will improve public safety and emergency response times throughout the community and has been designed appropriately for a growing community, according to the fire department.
