Two women were killed in a collision in Stanton and an investigation is underway Tuesday.
Deputies from the Stanton Station of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded around 8 p.m. Monday to Cerritos and Magnolia avenues regarding a collision. When they arrived at the scene, the deputies learned a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 60s had been struck by a vehicle near the crosswalk, a watch commander at the Stanton Station told City News Service.
The women were taken to a hospital by Orange County Fire Authority, where they were pronounced dead.
Deputies said the driver who struck the women remained at the scene and was cooperative.
The cause of the collision is an active investigation.
