Fire crews battled a pair of non-injury blazes that broke out hours apart in vacant downtown Los Angeles commercial buildings, both of which had burned before.

Firefighters responded at 2:58 a.m. Friday to a one-story building at 1233 S. Hope St., between Flower Street and Grand Avenue, where they put out the fire in 15 minutes, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jaime Stewart.

Approximately 34 firefighters fought the blaze and no injuries were reported.

At 8:14 a.m., crews were sent to a fire in the second previously burned commercial building, this one at 20260 E. Violet St., also in downtown, Stewart said.

Flames were visible coming through the top of the roofless one-story building, he said.

About 75 firefighters responded and put the blaze out in under 30 minutes, Stewart said.

It was not immediately clear if the two fires were believed to have been related.
