A 38-year-old felon has been charged with exposing himself to a woman he chased in Orange, according to court records obtained Thursday.

Rayce Christopher Benfield was charged Tuesday with a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction and a misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.

A woman told police she saw Benfield following her June 13 while she walked to her vehicle in a parking garage, and when when she picked up her pace he ran after her, according to court records.

As she got into the vehicle, Benfield allegedly slipped in through the unlocked passenger side and then pulled down his pants and touched himself, according to court records.

The woman got out and called police, according to a probation report on the felon.

Benfield, who had just been released from custody June 10, failed to report to probation officials by June 12.

Benfield has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2006. He pleaded guilty in September of that year to burglary and receiving stolen property. He pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in January 2009, robbery and burglary in September 2014 and vandalism in December of last year, according to court records.
