A suspicious package investigation shut down both lanes of the San Diego (405) Freeway in Brentwood for about two hours Thursday.

The item was located around 11:35 a.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers shut down southbound lanes at Sunset Boulevard and northbound lanes at Wilshire Boulevard.

According to a CHP officer, northbound lanes reopened at about 1:45 p.m., with southbound lanes reopening roughly 15 minutes later.

Information about the suspicious item was not immediately available.
