A car crashed into a Metro E Line train in downtown Los Angeles and an investigation of the crash is underway Thursday.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding a collision at the intersection of Flower Street and Venice Boulevard.
According to a Metro spokeswoman, the vehicle hit the train heading southbound.
“Metro thanks the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments for responding to the scene so quickly. The LAPD is leading the investigation,” she told City News Service.
When they arrived at the scene, the LAPD found the driver of the BMW had fled the scene.
“Metro reminds all drivers to be rail safe and to pay attention to crossing gates and warning signs and to always look both ways” Metro said in a statement.
