It took firefighters 36 minutes to put out flames that were showing through a two-story San Pedro house when they arrived Saturday.

The fire was reported at 8:54 p.m. Saturday at 860 W. Fourth St., west of Cabrillo Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

She said 49 firefighters responded and “simultaneously coordinated roof ventilation, interior fire suppression and salvage operations.”

Once flames were out, the Department of Water and Power was asked to send crews to deal with downed wires and the Department of Building and Safety was tasked with checking the structural integrity of the house, Lantz said.

No injuries were reported, she said.
