A man was fatally wounded after crashing a vehicle in Norwalk Saturday morning, authorities said.

Deputies arrived to the 14000 block of Shoemaker Avenue at about 12:25 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. They found a vehicle behind the location, which had struck a planter and an electrical box, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.

The victim was located in the driver’s seat, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to the upper body. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No further information was immediately available.
