A Silver Alert was in effect Saturday in Los Angeles and Kern counties for a 78-year-old man last seen in the San Fernando Valley community of Winnetka.
Diego Ortiz Monrreal was last seen at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday near Schoenborn Street and Cozycroft Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert Friday on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Monrreal was described as a 5-foot-2-inch-tall man weighing 110 pounds with a bald head and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green hat, blue shirt and dark-colored pants.
Anyone with information about Monrreal’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person has gone missing and is determined to be at risk to help locate them more quickly.
