Los Angeles Police Department traffic investigators Monday were looking into the circumstances surrounding an injury collision involving a Waymo autonomous vehicle in the Pico-Union district.

The two-vehicle collision was reported about 5:45 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Venice Boulevard near South Union Avenue, just west of the Los Angeles Convention Center, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Waymo car collided with a blue sedan occupied by a man, a woman and an infant, none of whom were seriously injured, according to a videographer at the scene who reported all three were treated and released at the scene.

One person who was inside the Waymo was critically injured and was taken to a hospital, according to the LAPD.
