A teenage boy was killed near the South Gate area of Los Angeles County, authorities said Wednesday.
Homicide detectives responded shortly before noon Tuesday to the 9600 block of Kalmia Street regarding a death investigation, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified as 17-year-old Daron Hale, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. The cause of death was not yet available.
Sheriff’s officials said there was no description of a possible suspect, and details about the investigation remain limited.
